The Friends of Kensal Green Cemetery have launched an appeal to restore, and preserve for the future, the grave stone of John William Waterhouse and his wife Esther. The monument, a fine Portland Stone headstone with surround, is now in very poor condition and the inscription is illegible. The target is to raise £10,000 by June 2008. The great-nephew of Waterhouse, Dr. John Physick CBE, will be consulted about the design for the new ledger stone. Full details are available in the attachment (available in PDF or DOC format): If you can contribute towards the appeal, or would like further information, please contact Barry Smith at The Friends of Kensal Green Cemetery.
