Only one museum in the United States owns a Waterhouse painting ('Dante and Beatrice'), and that is the Dahesh Museum in New York which recently closed.

Private art dealers sometimes have Waterhouse paintings for sale.

The auction houses Christie's, Sotheby's and Bonhams will hold special exhibitions during the run up to an auction which occasionally may include a work by John William Waterhouse. News of such auctions will be announced on the Message Board.
