The Tim Rice Collection

The Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle is hosting a major exhibition of Sir Tim Rice's private collection of art.

Sir Tim Rice is one of Britain’s most celebrated lyricists, writing songs for shows such as Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Chess, The Lion King and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat to name but a few.

Sir Tim began collecting as an investment many years ago but over time his interest has developed. He now has an extensive collection of paintings and sculpture from across the centuries. Sir Tim’s collection includes masterpieces including works by Bonnard, Carracci, Cézanne, Degas, Hockney, Picasso, Pissaro, Rembrandt, Vettriano, Warhol and Waterhouse.
