London: John William Waterhouse, RA

MESSAGE:
I have finally made a video of sorts of the trip to London.  I have posted it on my business YouTube, because it is the final piece of Vivaldi that I need.  So it is still me, and I still have my chiaroscuroFX channel, just in some ways this is more private.

I have to warn you that it was only the second time I used my vidcam, and the first time was more than a year ago.

There were many (if not all of the places we visited) where I could not use my cam inside.  I was able to use it at the RA, but there were some paintings I was not allowed to photograph, and by the time we got to the last room, the general public was coming in and people were 5 deep in front of each painting, and so I also had to turn my camera off because others might think they could photograph too.

The sites are not in any particular order to say the least, but then again, the trip is still a complete blur for me.

 RESPONSES:

Thank you, Susan!
It's beautiful. Love the way you went from the gallery views to outside locations. I Love London (and the English countryside) in autumn!

Thanks for including the images of the Waterhouse gravesite (about the 3.55 minute mark). So wish the restoration appeal had been able to raise funds for the monuments.

I enjoyed seeing your pictures of William Morris's Kelmscott Manor at about (I think) the 7.49 minute mark ... and the Morris family gravestone at about the 4.30 mark.

Thanks again!
The weather was great.  Took a lot of the Red House.

Got the gothic at Kings College, Cambridge, where the Fitzwilliam is located.

I have more video, but 10 minutes is the maximum allowed, and I thought it wouldn't upload because the vid was over that mark, and I could edit only so much.

I wanted to include The Magic Circle because Peter brought up an interesting point about how the evil was kept outside of the circle.  And each symbol was examined.  It was a beautiful painting.  All of them are beautiful!

The dinners were lovely, and everyone had a spectacular time.  I was the only one taking video, Cathy.  So I think that deserves 5 stars.
5 stars - or more, indeed! :)

The buildings at the beginning of the video ... another Cotswold William Morris location? ... Maybe near Morris Memorial Hall ??
Had to consult the itinerary!  So pathetic.  It was our first departure by coach.  William Morris's Red House in Bexleyheath, Kent.  Since it was the first day trip out of London into the countryside, I went overboard on the vid.  I completely left out Buscot Park, the next day, where I nearly fainted from the chills looking at Burne-Jones's The Legend of The Briar Rose.  Ten panels!  Peter calls me a Burne-Jones groupie.
Oh that little park, right after the close-up of the rose, is the park situated next to the Tate Britain.  Are these out-of-order or what?!
They create a wonderful mood, though!

In the documentary from AVRO ... Peter Trippi is shown talking with Robert Upstone and Elizabeth Prettejohn about the painting ... at about the 15.10 minute mark.

(another video (just about 3 minutes long) made before the exhibition opened at the Groninger Museum (if someone hasn't seen it) is interesting, too. (I love the videos :)
.... (at about the 2 minute mark ... Peter is shown outside 6 Primrose Hill Studios.)

We were over at Primrose.  But by that time my video was giving me motion sickness.
I do apologize for not labeling the architecture.  Had I done that, the video would have run well over the new 10 minutes limitation.  I'll try to pinpoint in the video a few of the highlights, as soon as I have more time.  Thanks for your patience.
Love the video as is ... happy to have more footage instead of labeling. :)

The views inside ... and out at the Royal Academy are wonderful! Enjoyed the glimpses of Peter as he talks about different paintings. :) Added a nice touch.

Many thanks, Susan.
I was very pleased they chose his favorite color for the walls - but then, since the color is all through most of the paintings, it was the perfect color, wasn't it?

I enjoyed seeing Kelmscott, and wish you could have explained what it was, but I think many fans recognize the house anyway.

I hate about the gravestone. Have they given up on restoration?
