Brief Biography:

POMEROY, Frederick William, R.A., N.P.S. (1856-1924)

Portrait, figure and monumental sculptor. Born on 9th October 1856 in London. Studied at Lambeth School of Art under Dalou, and the R.A. Schools 1881-85, winning a gold medal and travelling scholarship for sculpture 1885. Subsequently studied in Paris and Rome. Exhibited at the R.A. from 1885 and was elected A.R.A. 1906, R.A. 1917. Foundation member of the N.P.S. 1911. Lived in London. Died on 26th May 1924 at Cliftonville.
