Brief BiographyHAMILTON, Vereker Monteith, R.E. (1856-1931) Painter of military subjects. Born at Hafton, Argyll on 14th February 1856. Studied art under Legros at the Slade School where he won the landscape painting prize in 1886. Exhibited at the R.A. from 1886 and at the Paris Salon. Elected R.E. 1887. Lived in London and later at Cowden in Kent.
