Attended Waterhouse's funeral in 1917. Brief Biography:CALKIN, Lance (1859-1936) Portrait painter. Born in London on 22nd June 1859. Studied art at the R.C.A., at the Slade School, and at the R.A. Schools. Exhibited at the principal London galleries from 1881, mainly at the R.A., R.O.I., and Suffolk Street. Painted portraits of King Edward VII, King George V and many other important figures. Also painted portraits of William Logsdail whilst they were both working out of Primrose Hill Studios: William Logsdail and Elected R.O.I. 1895. Lived in London and died on 10th October 1936.
