Brief Biography:

BROWN, Thomas Austen, A.R.S.A., R.I., N.P.S. (1857-1924)

Landscape and genre painter. Born in Edinburgh. Exhibited at the R.A. from 1885 and widely at home and abroad. He won a first-class medal at the Munich exhibition of 1896, second-class medals at Munich, Dresden and Barcelona 1911, a grand gold medal in Budapest, and a silver medalin Barcelona. Represented in many public collections. Died on 9th June 1924.
